Antiquing My Hardwood Table

I recently built a hardwood table/desk for projects in the basement. When I get a new place I want it to act as a kitchen table. The wood was raw aspen, very smooth. I attached iron legs that fold under in case the table needs to be put away for some reason.

I wanted a more aged look, so I took to the interwebs trying find a technique that would help me achieve that. I found a blogpost about a gal who aged a raw wood coffee table using black tea and vinegar. I decided that would work, but I first used an overnight coat of water and black tea, and after that dried and sunk in, I brushed on a thick coat of vinegar-steeped coffee grounds.

I also beat the crap out of it with a trowel. I will post pictures of its further destruction later!
